Living with metastatic breast cancer: a global patient survey
Worldwide, one-third of patients who present with early-stage breast cancer will go on to develop metastatic dis- ease. Despite a serious diagnosis with a grave prognosis, treatment advances have meant that women are liv- ing longer with metastatic breast cancer. Demostrar el efecto de los cambios demográficos previstos por la CEPAL en la carga de cáncer en Colombia.
Se estableció el número de casos nuevos de cáncer en las primeras cinco localizaciones en mayores de 15 años, mediante las tasas de incidencia de cáncer para cada departamento, Bogotá y el grupo Amazonas estimadas por el Instituto Nacional de Cancerología y las proyecciones poblacionales del 2020 del DANE y del 2050 de la CEPAL.

Factores asociados con la participación de pacientes en ensayos clínicos en cáncer
The development of clinical trials (RCTs) in cancer requires fundamentally the voluntary participation of patients; However, not everyone is willing to do it and this affects their development. The most influential factors identified in other studies on the decision to participate have been: lack of information on the study design, randomization methods, types of treatment, use of placebos, toxicity and associated adverse effects.

Biomarcadores de pronóstico en pacientes con cáncer de próstata localizado
El tratamiento para cáncer de próstata localizado (prostatectomía radical o radioterapia) ofrece unas altas tasas de curación; sin embargo, del 20 al 30% de los casos desarrollan recurrencia bioquímica. Actualmente, existen factores clínicos y patológicos que ayudan a predecir recurrencia.

Cáncer y embarazo: Experiencia de seis años en un centro de referencia en cáncer en un país latinoamericano
Durante el periodo de estudio se incluyeron 38 pacientes, de las cuales 28 ya contaban con el diagnóstico de cáncer. El principal diagnóstico fue cáncer de cérvix. La mediana de edad gestacional al final del embarazo fue 35 semanas (rango intercuartílico 12 semanas). La principal vía de nacimiento fue vaginal (60%), seguida de cesárea (40%). Con respecto al tratamiento, el 55,5% requirió su suspensión, 38,9% tuvo cambios y en 5,6% se modificó la dosis del tratamiento.
